Editor's Forward:
For those of you interested in world legends
and mysteries - in particular that of Egypt , then this month's
collection of reviews is meant for you !
Our Mystical reviewer Meru has embarked on a
personal journey that includes past life regression, and this has
stimulated her search for historical information that might corroborate
events from a past life in Egypt, during which time an Earth change
triggered events that caused her city + local pyramid to become submerged
under water. Meru's challenge - although she is an accomplished clairvoyant,
she is mindful of some of the limitations of channeled information - that
dates can be tough to pin down, and that the personal bias of the
channeler can 'spin' the information received.
Enjoy this walk through incredible eras in
time and the 'unlocking' of various secrets and legends, and decide for
yourself what may - or may not - have occurred - and when !

The Rosetta Stone
by E.A. Wallis Budge
[1893, 1905]

http://www.sacred-texts.com/egy/trs/index.htm
This review is addressing a collection of two
articles by E.A. Wallis Budge, that are posted on one of our favorite
sites - Sacred Texts.com (link appears above).
This historical artifact
appears to be a catalyst to the deciphering of Egyptian hieroglyphic
symbols. From the author's description the stone itself appears to
be a simple decree prepared by priests of the time, placed in a conspicuous
location within the local temple as part of a shrine honoring the king at
this time - who was Ptolemy V, B.C. 195. The stone was discovered in
1799 by a French soldier amongst the ruins of a fort near the Rosetta
mouth of the Nile, and subsequently came into the hands of the British
government. Prior to and during this time, there was much mystique and
theorizing regarding the nature and meaning of Egyptian
hieroglyphics. Momentum had built up and many writers and
historians alike were publishing their interpretations on the
meanings. If one takes a serendipitous perspective, the
seemingly 'accidental' discovery of the stone during this time can be seen
as a huge clue provided by the Universe, igniting and amplifying their
efforts.
The author provides look back
at the 'forensic' deciphering of Egyptian hieroglyphics that was occurring through the competitive efforts of two particularly gifted
19th century scholars. Interesting how the name of one of them,
Champollion, is so similar to 'Chaeremon' of Alexandria, who was the chief
Custodian and Priest at the library of Alexandria (who provided teachings
regarding the sanctity and symbolic secrets of ancient Egypt).
The author provides examples of
hieroglyphs and their translations in his articles - take a look at the
hieroglyphs themselves - see if they resonate with you (just relax a bit and
take your time looking at them, they may seem to 'speak' to you !).
The author Wallis Budge has
done a fabulous job of tying together all of the current thoughts at the
time regarding translations of hieroglyphics and presenting a wonderful
and accurate story of this incredible and historically significant
finding, putting forth the story of the deciphering of Egyptian hieroglyphics.

Secrets & Mysteries of the World
Author:
Sylvia Browne
An excellent collection of arguments
and research on mysterious legends and phenomena of this world, from a
best-selling author and famous psychic medium. Sylvia skillfully mixes
current knowledge and history with her perspective on the channeled information
she has received on these secrets and mysteries. Get ready to learn about
everything from popular themes such as Egyptian pyramids, the Lost continent of
Atlantis, crop circles - to lesser known items as Chupacabras (ok this one
gives me chills up my spine - because in the summer I have an occasional
mid-night visit to my backyard from a nocturnal prowler that produces a sound a
lot like a 'Chuupy').
The parallels are striking between
the demise of Atlantis, apparently due to the Atlantean's hi-tech
experimentation without regard for the earth and the other inhabitants (blowing
up and sinking this continent), and the current status of the earth with today's
inhabitants - many of whom are polluting in similar disregard. Good
food for thought !
Credible explanations for unusual
phenomenon such as spontaneous human combustion (not unlike a rant from my
cosmic editor when a review is running late!), and [psychic] kinetic energy and
auras. Sylvia also helps clarify the western mystique behind Astrology, Voodoo, and
Shamanism - which are sciences unto themselves.
As always, Sylvia blends her personal
stories into her writings, providing a unique perspective on many subjects of
controversy. She gives away a great link to a resource of mysteries:
www.world-mysteries.com
Good advice:
'Take with you what you want and leave the rest'. An
excellent secret for the reading and digesting of controversial information !

Lost Worlds
Author: Damon Wilson
Cosmic Thoughts from our
Mystical Reviewer:

This book is not so easy to find, and
was previously published as: 'The Giant Book of Lost Worlds'. This
one is written
by Damon Wilson, son of prolific U.K. writer Colin Wilson (more on Colin Wilson
here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colin_Wilson
)
An incredible collection of factual
information that explores the mysteries of our planet. The author not only
has done a mind-boggling amount of research, but has presented this information
in the form of a story - the story of the origins of the earth, and it will have
you on the edge of your seat for the entire book. This book is classified
as 'supernatural' likely because Damon's father Colin Wilson is a renowned
authority on the paranormal. However, in the book Damon describes works
previously written and does not provide information that appears to have been
channeled. It would have been fabulous if each work could have been cited
- and this could still be done retrospectively as the descriptions of each reference
are complete enough to do a search.
Damon starts you off on a tour of
Egyptian mysteries, always good fodder for world history and mystery
enthusiasts, and leads you through other well known sites such as Easter island
and the stone statues along the coastline, through the legends of Atlantis,
Lemuria, Mu and most extraordinary to a lesser known account of the lost
empire of the Minoans in the Agean sea and a comparison to the legend of
Atlantis. For this one - go get your globe or map of the
earth. See for yourself if a 'lost continent' in the Atlantic could fit -
or not,
and also see if you think the author's explanation of Plato's account of 'Atlantis'
seems totally feasible Also - try looking up in American and British
encyclopedia's of the meaning of this word: 'billion'. This one
might give interesting perspective as to whether or not the inhabitants of
this earth can truly agree on anything even a word, less likely a story or
legend !
A damn good read in the opinion of
this reviewer !
