Well our Hans Knepp has a double fisted review
for you that will take you by surprise. As usual he is contrary to
popular opinion, and right on the mark in the opinion of this humble
editor. Why review a film - Lions for Lambs - on a book review
website? Ah leave it to Hans, always the rebel. And speaking
of rebels, the review in his other fist is a book providing astonishing
information on today's young generation - Indigo Children, who are
exceptional, brilliant, unconventional, rebellious, and here to change the
world ! Whew, quite the one-two if you ask me ! ~Solacẽ

movie link does not work)
A brilliant film revolving
around the events taking place in about 1 hour of time, in three separate
locations. Not at first so cosmic. Robert Redford plays a
University Professor who has a gifted young student (played by Andrew
Garfield) in his office, and is working on finding out what will motivate
his student to engage in the political economics class.
This student has slacked off in
attendance but when he does attend not only knows his stuff but
comes up with brilliant answers to tough situations. In the
second scenario Meryl Streep plays an experienced journalist who’s been
called into an up and coming young senators office (played by Tom Cruise)
for an exclusive interview regarding the war in Afganistan. The
third scenario takes place in Afganistan, where a targeted excursion is in
preparation, with the focus on two young soldiers who are also students of
the same University Professor (played by Redford).
As the scenes develop, bold
statements arise such as the apathy of young students – boredom with
current political rhetoric; the utter bull given by US Politicians
regarding the continuance of the war in Afganistan; the senselessness of
soldiers brutally slain in Afganistan, and how some people are totally
‘locked’ into ‘The System’, unable to shake themselves free of the
rhetoric or the bull. Kudos to Redford Streep and Cruise for putting
their butts on the line in this film that makes such a huge statement !
And Kudos also to the film's writer Matthew Michael Carhahan who had the
chutzpah to write the film.
But the Pièce de résistance
in this reviewer’s opinion – is the question posed by Redford to the
gifted young student – what will you do?
The dual theme, what will you do to make a difference in my class and what
will you do to make a difference for this country? A huge question
being asked to all young people – especially, in my opinion, to the
Indigo children – what will you do to make a difference?
And, hmmm, what about the
reviews on this film. They’ve been pretty crappy.
Interesting isn’t it? Either they don’t get it – or, they
don’t want to admit to the bull and rhetoric of 'The System'.
Ok here’s where the Cosmic
part and the Human Consciousness part comes in. Young people
watching this movie will ‘get it’. They already get it because
most young people nowadays are being born with special gifts – gifts
that allow them to see clearly the current absurdities in the world –
and to want to have nothing to do with ‘The System’. Their
brilliance will come up with ways to change this world in ways we can’t
even imagine !
So, how many young people need
to see this film in order for the message to get through to all of
them? Only 100. That’s right – 100 young Indigos with the
same learning experience will transfer that learning experience into their
group consciousness. Then, all of the Indigos will be raring to get
out there and Make A Difference !! And, as you’ll see from the
review below, they are the ones that have the intellect and the kahunas to
put a dent into The System and then keep at it until it's blown wide open.
Go Indigos Go !
Well what’s her problem?
Why is he so rebellious? Why does she run yelling and screaming
through the house? Holy Smokes, how the heck did he know that
? Wow, what a brilliant picture she’s drawn, how could she have
imagined that? How come my kid won’t talk to anyone? How
come my kid doesn't fit in with the others?
Yes, this is the spectrum of
the Indigo, today’s gifted children and the questions many parents and
siblings (and co-workers) of Indigos are asking about young people who
were born around the1970’s through 1990’s.
So how can there be a Complete
Idiot’s book already when I’ve never even heard of Indigo Children
before? – a question you might be asking yourself.
A wise woman, Wendy Chapman,
has been working with Indigo children for 15 years. She is an Indigo
adult. So just what are Indigos? They are not just New Age
children. They are unconventionally brilliant, spiritually advanced,
strikingly ‘tuned in’ – and they don’t fit into any mold.
Some are highly excitable, very nonconformist, and so much so that some
are quite challenged, and have issues with learning – and, as a result
have been given labels such as ADHD, Dyslexia, Asperger’s, Autism.
It’s so important to know why
they have such behaviors, and how to properly respond to these special
children – this guide written by Wendy can be such a help to parents who
just don’t know what to do - and also know that they don’t want their
child to be medicated.
Why Indigo? The aura of
Indigo’s are highly indigo colored. Their 6th or ‘third eye’
chakra which houses intellect, intuitive and creative capabilities, is
very strong. This is part of their giftedness. We can learn so much
from them – but first we need to understand who they are – and
that’s why the book!
About the book: A hugely
informative guide to the Indigo Child. Wendy has taken her 15 years
of inspiration and transformed it into this excellent resource. Very
well structured, the chapters are divided into 5 themes, the first ‘A
Wave of Deep Blue’ has info on how to know if you have an Indigo, very
helpful checklists. Also extraordinary – how to find out if you
are an Indigo adult (born ahead of your time eh !). Some famous
examples of Adult Indigos include Steve Jobs, George Lucas, Steven
Spielberg, Robin Williams, andy Kaufman, Bono, Caroline Myss, Marianne
Williamson, Oprah Winfrey, Shirley MacLaine just to name a few.
So, why are Indigos here?
Ok more of the Cosmic and human consciousness stuff. Yes the world
is not ‘working’ anymore, it’s pretty obvious. But how to fix
it? Yes ! You have to think ‘out of the box’. That’s
what Indigo's were born to do, and they challenge us to do it too.
They are wise souls, here to help us learn how to work together, to learn
together, and to evolve our collective human consciousness. Whew !!
An inspiring read !!
