The Intention Experiment

by Lynne McTaggart

Sometimes when you buy candy
the wrapping is so much more attractive than the taste of the candy
itself. Perhaps you’ve experienced craving a soda, but when taking a sip
of it you realize it has gone flat leaving you with a disappointing
feeling. Maybe you’ve gone out on a Friday night to your local bar and
the person across the room just oozes sex, except when back in the bed
room no climax is happening, and yes! That’s kind of how I felt reading
The Intention Experiment …
The cover (wrapping) is so
attractive that you just have to pick it up, but the content of the book
leaves you with no taste at all, the material is something I so hunger
for, have a real craving for, but it doesn’t deliver, it’s actually
quite flat, and the promise of the book oozes of potential, but it just
doesn’t perform.
This is such a brilliant idea…Lynne
McTaggart has put together a book that invites you to be part of
scientific experiments, testing the minds ability to control matter. So it’s
not just another book you actually help writing it in some way, as the
experiments have to be performed before the book can be concluded. Mrs.
McTaggart has teamed up with scientist from across the world and the first
part of the book introduces some of them and tells a bit about research
they’ve done in various fields connected to mind over matter
experiments. She also in lay man terms explains other experiments that
have been conducted by scientists, which in itself is very interesting,
that on some level has had an impact on science today and the way it is
shifting, now coming to terms with there’s little we know, and there’s
so much to discover.
This first part of the book is
great to read, however just not enough to keep the momentum going as there’s
no need to spend good money on a book where the information can easily be
pulled of the internet. The second part of the book takes you through a
process where Mrs. McTaggart teaches you to be part of the experiments
themselves, how to prepare yourself, meditate etc. It’s a snore fest to
say the least and not that informative, it’s like she had to write this
part because she was under obligation from her publisher to fill out
certain space.
Now! The most disappointing
thing was when I wanted to join the experiments I went to her website
where there was no clear direction on how to participate, only that this
is serious stuff. I even emailed Mrs. Taggart & co asking how to get
involved now that I had read the book, but never received a reply, so here
I spend good money on a book that just promised to give so much, but
absolutely gave nothing in return.
I have since I bought the book
been back on the website and it has been changed around and it now seems
to be a little easier to be part of these experiments, just in a very
untimely manner. As I said the idea was amazing, to involve everyday
people do mind over matter experiments, it could have been so good. So
sorry to say this, but I do feel ripped off, however if you’d like the
book The Institute for Noetic Science now gives it away for one dollar if
you become a member http://noetics.org/main/SIALanding_Intent.cfm.
That’s all it’s worth, seriously, but that
Noetic Science wants to be associated with this work is beyond me. Lynne
McTaggart by the way is no scientist, but she is a writer, and that may
mean something. http://theintentionexperiment.ning.com/

The Food Revolution – How your diet can help save
your life and the world.
By:
John Robbins
A foundational work on the
links between diet and health, and industrial animal farming and impact on
the environment.
This book is on our recommended
list and reviewed here at cosmic because of the Spiritual nature of both
the author and his work.
What is the food revolution?
Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock, there are campaigns everywhere
that are seeking to educate consumers on making healthier food choices.
This book was the forerunner of the healthy diet phenomenon that is now
touching all of our lives. John purports that he writes this book to
expand upon his previous work ‘Diet for a New America’ – in fact
this book stands on it’s own as a monumental effort in providing a
plethora of evidence that not only is diet linked to disease, but has
broken the dogma that nature is a commodity, and demonstrates that the
unlimited consumption of animals is in fact killing this planet.
Golden nuggets – all the statistics quoted are footnoted to actual
studies (there are 43 pages of literature references cited at the back of
his book). Many of these studies are now themselves foundational
works.
Robbins appeals to our inner
virtues (our cosmic side), to bring caring and compassion into the
forefront of our minds with regard to humanity, the animal world, and the
environment of this planet. It is truly within each and every one of
us a desire to make choices that help create a healthier future for
everyone including our beleaguered planet. Political correctness is
not at issue here, but – according to the author, your food choices
bring you health, uphold your spirit, and help you to fulfill your true
nature and reason for being alive.
Believe that your food choices
can impact your own health and the health of this planet, each and every
one of us can make a difference – you don’t have to join an activist
group, you can make a difference all on your own – choose to make health
food choices and save yourself and this planet !! Read the food
revolution and learn………… it’s a truly cosmic choice !
