February 2007
Editor's Forward:
This
month's theme represents the combined efforts of both our Spiritual
Writer, Rev Doreen Oceana, and our Mystical Writer, Meru (a
little secret regarding Meru - he is also a medium).
Together they explores perspectives on unique and shared experiences
about life, death, and the overwhelming evidence that life continues on
after physical death. A Cosmically Divine set of reviews.
Most
cosmic are the shared experiences, most divine is that we each have our
own purpose.
Note:
We are still
in
negotiations with two writers vying for 'The Universe'
writer's spot, and interestingly enough each of them have opposing views
on an extremely hot book that we'd like to present in March......

Shining Stars
Life
After Life
Author:
Raymond A. Moody Jr., M.D.

A
foundational work in the field of reincarnation, referenced
by many others who have since furthered this work.
An excellent read for those suffering the loss of a loved one,
and for those faced with terminal illness.
Dr Moody’s clinical research, combined with the plethora of
testimonial experiences word-wide and throughout history of near death
experiences. By it’s very
nature, it is not possible to examine and dissect a near death
experience by scientific method. However,
the sheer numbers of experiences must lead any reasonable soul to
conclude that something is going on.
Dr Moody’s detailed clinical study shows remarkable trends that
have lead to the development of a model for our existence – that our
journey inside these physical bodies is a temporary one, and that after
our physical body dies we indeed live on afterwards.
Death is no longer frightening and this knowledge can provide
tremendous comfort for those who can embrace the concept.
Death becomes a transition from one state to another, or an entry
into a higher state of consciousness.
Our life here becomes that of learning, growing, an awakening to
who we really are. Our soul
never really stops growing and evolving even upon death – it continues
on. Corroboration of near
death experiences once the soul returns to the body, to those who were
present during the experience. As
a the leading authority in the field of near-death experiences, Life
after life will change the way you understand life, and provide insight
into the peace and love that await all of us.
Read, enjoy, learn, and best of all – be comforted by it.
Note:
it is not easy to find the original version of this book (try
your local library or his web site), however there are updated versions
co-authored by Moody and another authority in this field, Elizabeth
Kubler-Ross (showing above).

You
Cannot Die
Author:
Ian
Currie

This work expands on Raymond
Moody’s case studies of near-death-experiences to include the
paranormal, and presents a riveting case about
death and dying - that we will live again and indeed we cannot die.
Ian Currie, author and
psychic researcher, has gathered case histories of paranormal phenomena
from out-of-body-experiences, near-death-experiences, from mediums,
apparitions, and hauntings. Ian
has noticed a common theme amongst the century of research, in that our
soul’s mission is to search for knowledge, to learn from experience
and to help others to do likewise!
Ian compares our incarnation on earth to that of an explorer’s
adventure. A soul
inhabiting a body is likened both to a deep sea diver stepping into a
heavy diving suit, or a mountaineer equipping himself to climb a
rock-face at high altitude. At
the close of each exploration the adventurous soul, the animating spirit
is released – this is the ‘you’ that cannot die.
Case histories of
apparitions, hauntings, out-of-body-experiences, deathbed visions,
near-death-experiences, possessions, are presented, and conclusions are
drawn. Most interesting are
accounts from the ‘other side’ from mediums, which shed light on the
reincarnation process from the perspective of those already on the other
side.
Currie concludes that humans
do survive physical death, that they continue to exist after death (of
the physical body) in various levels of awareness and creativity an a
place that incarnated beings don’t normally perceive.
Our memory of this place is erased upon incarnation, and also
realized is that successive incarnations are not random but incredibly
are linked to a fascinating ‘law of causation’.
A fascinating read and a thorough investigation!

Embraced By The Light
Author:
Betty
J. Eadie

A very profound book,
capturing in inspirational detail the near death experience of Betty J.
Eadie. For those wishing to
understand why they are here, a very positive loving view of the
afterlife is provided, unique. Betty
meets a being of light and is walked through examples of current life
experiences from the perspective of a spirit on the ‘other side’.
Especially touching is the story of two soulmates who agreed to
meet in a very short but important way.
One is a busy executive who is caught up in this high-powered
world, and the other appears to be a homeless drunk.
They meet briefly on the street on a cold snowy day.
The drunk serves to remind the executive of the humbleness of our
life experience and their brief but poignant meeting nudges the
executive back onto his ‘life path’ and just goes to show us that
you can’t judge another’s purpose for being here (in my opinion very
good food for thought for all those that see the homeless on the streets
of their city). For those
that know and are seeking confirmation that the other side is a positive
and loving one, and indeed not filled with wrathful deities.
For those who may be off-put by the repeated references to
Christianity – it is a well worth read if you can just put to one side
these references and feel the essence of the experience – the
positive loving afterlife, and the divine purpose that we all came here
to share.

On The Other Side - A Psychic's Tour of the Afterlife
Author:
Sylvia
Browne

Very talented and popular
psychic, the material is presented from personal experience and
teachings from her family - both physical and spiritual.
Her research is illustrated by very visual descriptions of the
‘other side’ itself, the journey to reach the other side, what
it’s like when you arrive, and incredibly what we do (we
actually have stuff to ‘do’ after our life is done here), and how
our life is ‘charted out’ by ourselves (with advisors) before we
reincarnate. This book is
eloquently written and filled with wonderfully positive and loving info.
If reading the book without having first seen Sylvia ‘in
action’ either during a lecture or on TV’s ‘Montel’, it requires
a leap of faith to keep reading, as the information may be too
extraordinary to believe. But
after having seen her in action – and hopefully convinced of her
remarkable psychic talent, the reading material is much more palatable.

The
Third Eye
Author:
T.
Lobsang Rampa

A
Tibetan Llama ‘Tuesday Lobsang Rampa’ is the author of this very
eloquently written book. Rampa
has captured the essence of his spiritual journey to self - awareness
and has provided a pioneering work for new age mysticism.
This work is both a deeply inspiring journey of awaking, and a
powerful glimpse into our spiritual nature and the spiritual laws that
we are governed by. The
Tibetan spiritual knowledge and experience is vast, and many powerful
spiritual techniques are illustrated through Rampa’s beautiful stories
recanting experiences from childhood and teachings from wise priests and
also his beloved guide. This
book is a must read for all those who know that they are on a
‘spiritual path’ and are seeking guidance from a Master.
Also for those that are seeking guidance from their own inner
guide – and for those that are already aware of their guide, it is
heartwarming to feel this loving relationship as so very evident in his
writing. Rampa’s
descriptions of his beloved hometown Lhasa make me want to book the next
flight out to view it for myself)!
Rampa
has written a plethora of other books detailing many of his incredible
experiences – but they are not easy to find.
Some are available on Amazon, others you may find in used
bookstores – and speaking of used bookstores here’s a good one and
you can buy online if you don’t want to travel to Kitchener Ontario): casabooks.com
